The Chinese Bodhisattva/ Goddess of Compassion, Mercy and Kindness is considered to be a mother-goddess and patron of seamen. The name Guan Yin also spelt Guan Yim, Kuan Yim, Kwan Im, or Kuan Yin, is a short form for Kuan-shi Yin, meaning “Observing the Sounds (or Cries) of the (human) World”. A few years ago, after a breakup – my siblings bought me a statue of her. “What the Fuck is this? Were my initial thoughts… Gracious as always, I thanked them for they bought it at one of my favorite Metaphysical Bookstores & I noted the price tag. Suddenly she was everywhere. This Goddess that of Kuan -Yin. I realized I had indeed purchased a book about her years ago, I dreamt of her and her image was showing up everywhere in my life. Much like my devotion to the Blessed Mother of my Catholic upbringing, she gave me comfort, a maternal love, something unconditional. Signs like these are magic for those attuned to realm of spirit. Look for the symbols and emblems that guide your life. The Divine is always present.
